So can be said of Trombonist Slide Hampton. Celebrating his 86th Birthday this month. There’s a “Trombone-coming" for this Jeannette native this weekend at Wallace’s Whiskey Room + Kitchen in East Liberty.

From his years touring with Woody Herman, his own major projects like the acclaimed WORLD OF TROMBONES, and work with countless other legendary performers, Slide Hampton has had a great and long career that we, as jazz lovers, have much enjoyed
This weekend, Pittsburgh trombone notable Al Dowe will join with vocalist Etta Cox, pianist Jeff Lashway, Roger Humphries, drums, Tony DePaolis, bass and a roomful of other jazz luminaries for a show presented in cooperation with the Bridge Music Hall.
