Drummer and jazz advocate Thomas Wendt visits the the MCG Jazz Spotlight Hour - Friday and Sunday Night at 6

MCG’s Marty Ashby is joined by prominent Pittsburgh percussionist and promoter of jazz, Thomas Wendt.

Thom shares some of his favorite, classic recordings from his collection and stories to go along with them.

Selections include: Benny Carter -Further Definitions; Elvin Jones - Dear John C; Betty Carter - The Audience with Betty Carter; Booker Little - Out Front; Eric Dolphy - Out to Lunch; and Oliver Nelson - The Kennedy Dream

Thomas Wendt is a regular fixture on the jazz scene in Pittsburgh, and tours beyond, regularly, too. He regularly accompanies visiting artists to Pittsburgh, including David "Fathead" Newman, James Moody, Jimmy Heath, Clark Terry, Benny Golson, Freddy Cole, Monty Alexander, Paquito D'Rivera, and many more.

He also has leadership roles with the Pittsburgh Jazz Orchestra, Lighthouse Arts and JazzPGH.org.
