This week on the MCG Jazz Spotlight Show, actress and vocalist Gloria Reuben is guest host with Marty Ashby. They discuss Gloria’s musical influences, her career and the impact of the pandemic.

An actress, singer and published author, she’s been nominated for Emmys and Golden Globe awards, appeared in numerous films, including “Lincoln” and “Reasonable Doubt.”  Gloria's portrayal of Condoleezza Rice in David Hare's play Stuff Happens at The Public Theater in NYC garnered her a Lucille Lortel Award for Best Actress. She even did a stint as a backup singer for Tina Turner in 2000.

Gloria shares her favorite songs, from Shirley Horn and Sarah Vaughn, to music from her two MCG Jazz recordings, and songs from a full-length ballet that Gloria performed with the Charlotte Ballet in 2016.
