Jazz Appreciation Month continues - and a visit with Janis Burley Wilson
We visit with a great jazz advocate and supporter of the Jazz Scene in Pittsburgh, Janis Burley Wilson, President and CEO of the August Wilson African American Cultural Center.
We look at the past present and future of jazz in our region, in person and more, including the success of the online version of the 2020 Pittsburgh International Jazz Festival, plus new projects like the Vinyl Report being curated by Thomas Wendt. Click on the image below for Tom’s latest episode during a month of celebration for Jazz Appreciation Month.
The News for the Pittsburgh International Jazz Festival for 2021 is - SEPTEMBER. Artists and location to be announced, but the dates to reserve on your calendar are September 17-19, 2021.
Also on the program - we appreciate Jazz - as we do, every day. This time, especially highlighting some sounds from folks becoming more active now as things open up on the Pittsburgh Jazz Scene.
Thursday at 6pm, Friday and Saturday at noon, Sunday afternoon at 5.
