Guitarist and vocalist John Pizzarelli joins us this week to talk about his new solo guitar effort that was born out of the times of isolation in the past year. Starting in March of 2020, John and his wife Jessica Molaskey found themselves in their cabin in the woods, away from New York City, but with the internet and art and music.

During that time, they faced challenges and reflection like many of us - and for John, he dove deeper into music he loved. And that led to this new release of this new recording of solo guitar interpretation of Music by Pat Metheny.

John and Jessica are heard each Sunday morning from 10 to noon on WZUM with their show Radio Deluxe, so playing other people’s recordings was covered, but John found he was trying out other music as a performer - and started sharing those efforts, online.

John shares the story of how he completed the project, working with his iPad, the technical help of co-producer Rick Hayden, artwork from his wife, Jessica Molaskey, and lead sheets and encouragement from Pat Metheny, himself.
