Tony DePaolis hails from a musical family that has been active in the local music scene since the mid-60s, and has enjoyed the great advantages of being a musical "trunk baby." In addition to many tours, recording dates and performances with notable local and national leaders, in late 2009 Tony also released his debut CD as a leader. Entitled "The Contemporary Dynamic," it is a 2-disc cross-section of the jazz scene and beyond of Pittsburgh, featuring 36 other fine musicians, from Joe Negri and Roger Humphries to Sean Jones and Gene Stovall — and back again.
