Saxophonist Camille Thurman and the Darrell Green Quartet for Kente Arts at the New Hazlett Theater, Northside
Camille Thurman is a composer, multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, and unique interpreter of the jazz tradition. Fluid and powerful on the tenor saxophone and highly inventive as a vocalist, she also plays bass clarinet, flute, and piccolo. She is the first woman in 30 years to tour and perform full-time (2018-2020) with the world-renowned Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra led by Wynton Marsalis.
Trio leader, percussionist Darrell Green, has been a fixture in the Bay Area and New York, including tours with Steve Turre, Pharoah Sanders, Sherman Irby and Jeremy Pelt.
