The Festival’s 2022 theme is Jazz Women of the Valley and Beyond; Past, Present, and Future… We plan to honor some great Jazz Women from the local community! With tribute performances to honor Maxine Sullivan, Bette Davis, and Tamara Tunie, and a Jazz Community Tent featuring the CDs and books of all the local musicians participating in the event and contact information for them, including Tamara Tunie’s newest.
Also, a special presentation, “Homestead History/Women in Jazz,” by Local Historian Jaquay Carter, highlighting the lives of Maxine Sullivan, Bette Davis, Evelyn Hawkins Tunie, and Tamara Tunie.
