A recent transplant to the Pittsburgh area, Matthew Charles Heulitt was a top call session guitarist in the San Francisco area for 25 years.   As a bandleader he brings a version of jazz that blends moody composition with re-envisioned standards and contemporary music.  His virtuosic yet grounded playing draws a constant sense of unfolding and searching that speaks to the heart of jazz.
