Signal Quartet is a Detroit-based jazz co-operative playing exclusively original material with all four members contributing compositions. Adventurous without being obtuse, the music draws from a number of sources including indie rock and the jazz avant-garde while always privileging spontaneity and ensemble interaction over heroic individual soloing.
