2024 PianoDay songwriting competition in partnership with Modern Piano of Wexford Pennsylvania,

On Saturday, September 14 from 3 to 5 PM under the big tent in Schenley Plaza there will be a beautiful new Kawai artist grand piano, ready to make music with our regional songwriters.

Contestants will be divided into two categories, youth and adult. All songs must be original compositions. Each artist will be given three minutes to perform their work.

The winner from each group will receive a framed certificate authenticating their achievement, an $88 cash prize and hefty gift vouchers good for the purchase of a new instrument from Modern piano. Plus Pittsburgh bragging rights, good for at least one whole year!

Then from 5 to 6 PM we will be making the piano available for public play. First come first serve, just for the joy of playing.

This is all in addition to the September 15 event on Grandview Avenue.
