Mat Maneri & Lucian Ban return to City of Asylum this Saturday, September 28th at 8:00 PM for a FREE program of jazz and poetry featuring tracks from their latest record, Transylvanian Dance. In addition to improvised sets with Pittsburgh poet Joy Priest, they will collaborate with poets from the International Writing Program at the University of Iowa Phodiso Modirwa, Nicholas Wong, and Felipe Franco Munhoz.

Mat Maneri has defined the voice of the viola and violin in jazz and improvised music over the course of a twenty-five year career, establishing an international reputation as one of the most original and compelling artists of his generation.

Lucian Ban is a Romanian born, NYC based pianist & composer known for his amalgamations in improvisation, his mining of 20th Century European classical music with jazz, and his pursuit of a modern chamber jazz ideal.
