Sean Jones and the Baltimore Collective - Kente Arts at the New Hazlett Theater - Northside

Sean Jones is a gifted trumpeter, bandleader, composer, educator, and and activist. He has always intertwined music and spirituality into his artistic vision.

Sean sang and performed as a child with the church choir in his hometown of Warren, Ohio, where he started playing trumpet by the age 10. His long tenure as a professor of jazz at Duquesne University was a powerful aspect to the resurgence of jazz in Pittsburgh, today.

Jones will perform with his group The Baltimore Collective, which he created to provide a platform for regional musicians to perform more closely together.
