COVID-19 and Live Jazz Events and Cancellations in Pittsburgh - What We Know So Far

All music presented at restaurants, bars and music venues in the greater Pittsburgh area are closed through at least April.

Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf and Secretary of Health Dr. Rachel Levine have issued “Stay at Home” orders, now extended through May 8. The entire commonwealth is now under statewide COVID-19 mitigation:

  • Freedom of travel will remain, but all Pennsylvanians are asked to refrain from non-essential travel.

  • The Wolf Administration strongly encourages the suspension of large gatherings, events, conferences of more than 10 people, and per White House guidelines, ask that individuals and groups cancel any gatherings.

Earlier, the Governor ordered closed all “non-life sustaining businesses” across the state.

A list of life-sustaining businesses is here.

The Center for Disease Control is now urging the cancellation of any event with more than 50 people for the next 8 weeks. The White House is now discouraging social gatherings in groups of more than 10 people.

WZUM will work to keep the Jazz Community Connected in the meanwhile — Expanding our presentation of Pittsburgh artists you enjoy - and sharing links to events and music from our hometown Favorites.
