Jazz in Pittsburgh has powered up for the Summer - more than 200 jazz events per month in July, August and September
The Pittsburgh international Jazz Festival 2021 is scheduled for September 17-19 (Janis Burley Wilson shared a sneak preview with us, earlier), plus the return of the Monroeville Jazz Festival on September 4th and BPEP Jazz at the Heinz History Center, September 20th.
Plus, the return of a full season at MCG Jazz, starting with the Yellowjackets, September 24th and 25th.
Also in September - Jazz Poetry Month 2021, at Alphabet City - an annual celebration of artists working together to experiment, collaborate, and express themselves - now with both in-person and online presentations from seven countries. Still from Pittsburgh, this Pittsburgh event is now global.
There’s much more being shared with WZUM every day, and we are rushing to keep track of it all. Check the calendar at Jazz Central on the schedules for Con Alma, MCGJazz, Kingfly Spirits, the Tryp Hotel, the Helltown Taproom, the August Wilson African American Cultural Center and more.
