The 6th Annual Highmark Blues & Heritage Festival presented by Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield Showcases the blues and its extensions and connections – from Africa to the Americas at the August Wilson African American Cultural Center
Two generations of Blues stars, Bobby Rush and Eric Gales - Friday, November 3, and two grand masters of Latin music, percussionist extraordinaire Pete Escovedo featuring Nestor Torres and singer and original member of the Buena Vista Social Club, Omara Portuondo - Saturday, November 4.
Both evenings take place at The August Wilson African American Cultural Center, 980 Liberty Avenue, at 8:00 pm
Also, a family-friendly day - Saturday from 11am-3pm with Blues/Rock/Soul with Jacquea Mae and Byron Nash; Afro-Cuban Rhythms with Hugo Cruz and Caminos; and an African Dance Party with Legacy Arts.
