Earlier this year, Joe received the Pittsburgh JazzLive Legacy Award from the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust.

In 2010, Joe visited the basement of the building that for a while housed WDUQ - and for many years, had been the home of the musicians union
A few months after WDUQ moved from it's 30 year home in the "Des Places" building, the new Studios for the station moved to 709 Forbes Ave in Pittsburgh - a location that for many years was the home of the Pittsburgh Musicians' Union.
