Trumpeter, educator, bandleader, composer, mentor and friend Sean Jones stops by to visit on the radio - and he’ll be back in Pittsburgh in person in August.
NYO Jazz. - led by Sean Jones - is coming from Carnegie Hall on a national tour that’s stopping by the August Wilson African American Cultural Center, Tuesday, August 2nd. They also have a new CD just out called, “We’re Still Here.”
The Tour visit in August will include Sean and vocalist Jazzmeia Horn.
We also talk with Sean about teaching, about music, and about the importance of his roots in Northeastern Ohio.
We also hear sounds from Special EFX, performing at the South Park Amphitheater on Friday and Hendrik Meurkens, at Con Alma Sunday night with Billy Test, Rufus Reid and Reid Hoyson
