The Pittsburgh Jazz Days of Summer 2023

A Happy Summer to you from the Pittsburgh Jazz Channel, WZUM! Our broadcasts, website and social media content now reach tens of thousands of people – a resurgence of jazz for and from our region that is resounding around the world.

Check out the live jazz scene at Jazz Central! If you know about live events in Pittsburgh - share the details with a quick click, here. Jazz Central details on events for the next few days at a glance can be found here.

WZUM is featuring more Pittsburgh-connected performances past and present than ever before on the the Scene, the Pittsburgh Show and the MCG Jazz Spotlight. Kate Borger has been brightening our mornings every weekday and with a special uplifting mix on Rhythm-a-Ning; our new addition, the Soul Show with Mike Canton has been making new musical and community connections - and also has Kate joining in on August 5th from 2-5 as guest host - featuring soulful women in R&B, blues, gospel, zydeco and jazz.

The Summer is also bringing announcements about the fall - September has great news in concerts from Kente Arts, MCG Jazz, the 20th Monroeville Jazz Festival, the Pittsburgh International Jazz Festival and much more.

The August Wilson African American Cultural Center is ringing in the month of August with this offer for the Pittsburgh International Jazz Festival.

Now through August 7th receive $20 off a 2 day pass or $10 off a Saturday or Sunday one day ticket for concerts at Highmark Stadium on September 16th and 17th featuring Gregory Porter, Bob James, Kurt Elling, Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis and many more!. Visit pittsburghjazzfest.org/augustpromo for details. (This offer expires at midnight on August 7th.)

In 2018, WZUM and a legion of jazz presenters and performers teamed up together to emphasize how much there was to enjoy. In the 5 years since, through the rebound from a pandemic, the jazz scene in Pittsburgh and the Pittsburgh Jazz Channel are growing with excitement and events. As we enter into our new budget year, the future of jazz on the radio and in the region looks bright - especially with your time and support.
