Tune into "Rhythm-a-ning" Friday morning at 10 and Saturday from 11 to noon to hear sounds from an amazing musical year - 1924.
100 year old tunes on this week's "Rhythm-a-ning" - a broad array of tunes that are still being interpreted, today!
Gershwin’s “Fascinating Rhythm” was from that year - and “Rhapsody in Blue,” too. Irving Berlin penned “All Alone” in 1924, and Vincent Yuumans and Irving Caesar wrote “I Want to Be Happy.” Hear great performances by Samara Joy, Tony Bennett and Diana Krall, Katie Thiroux, Jimmy Rushing and more.
Kate Borger also celebrates the centennials of Blossom Dearie, Sarah Vaughan, Sonny Stitt and Bud Powell.
Friday morning at 10, and Saturday from 11 'til noon, with your host, Kate Borger. Join us and "Linger Awhile."
