1998 was a very special year for MCG Jazz - and on this program, host Marty Ashby creates a musical time machine with music from departed legends. Host Marty Ashby explores the programs of two five-show performances from the 1998 MCGJazz concert series: The Michael Brecker Quartet from March 1998 and Joe Williams Presents Nicole Yarling from February 1998.

Lost Sounds Found - Jazz treasures discovered in the MCGJazz Spotlight

Marty Ashby and Renée Govanucci discover lost recordings by unknown artists such as Claudia Thompson and Arv Garrison, as well as unearthed treasures by some of our favorite musicians including the Dave Brubeck Quartet, Mundell Lowe and Stanley Turrentine.

October has been action packed in Pittsburgh for jazz fans and venues - and the rest of the fall continues to be filled with a diverse array of musical riches.

Tuesday October 17 featured the Jazz opening for the newly renovated Greer Cabaret Theater on Penn Avenue with the Baylor project - featuring Pittsburgh native, bassist Richie Goods.

Richie Goods on stage with the Baylors was a special treat, since one of his Pittsburgh mentors, Dwayne Dolphin was also on the stage at the start of the night receiving the JazzLive Legacy Award
