Christian Bernard is a Colombian born Oboist-Conductor, and currently a student at Carnegie Mellon University, studying oboe performance with Cynthia Koleda DeAlmeida, and conducting with Daniel Nesta Curtis. He has conducted the D-Flat Singers since 2015, also writing and arranging several works for the ensemble, including Love is the Beacon, Carry me Sleep, and Blooms of May. He will continue to expand his practice in Pittsburgh, producing concerts that blend artistic expression through musical and visual media, to promote discourse around the important issues of today
This piece was written in collaboration with Yelim Kim, an art student at Carnegie Mellon University, as part of a video monologue portraying dramatic indifference towards the chaos of life.
