The August Wilson Center has made the difficult decision to postpone this coming June’s 10th Anniversary Pittsburgh International Jazz Festival (PIJF). The festival will be held June 17-20, 2021.
AWAACC will be offering a virtual jazz experience Pittsburgh International Jazz Festival Live Online, a free special event that will stream live on Saturday, June 20 at 12p.m. on the Center’s website and Facebook page.
The virtual event, curated by the AWAACC in collaboration with award-winning musician Sean Jones, will feature legendary jazz musicians from around the world, including Jones, Dianne Reeves, The Bad Plus, Laurin Talese, Jeff Watts, Brett Williams, Lakecia Benjamin, and more.
To mark what would have been the 10th anniversary of the Pittsburgh International Jazz Festival (PJIF) in June, the event will also include a live performance by local Pittsburgh artists, special tributes, and a look back at archival interviews and footage from the Festival’s first 10 years.
