With the move to “Green” for COVID-19, some smaller jazz venues started to offer live entertainment, but that is now being impacted by local health orders.
In the latest iteration, social distancing and reduced capacities at venues will continue, and outdoor events are the most likely chance for live jazz events..
In addition to jazz day and night on the radio at WZUM, there are a great number of jazz special streams, events and new sessions that our friends are sharing - We are compiling a small list:
Jazz at Lincoln Center has been tracking many new livestream projects by others, plus archives of hundreds of hours of performances, masterclasses, lectures at more, at their own site.
In the Pittsburgh area, many are hosting their own musical get togethers:
Con Alma, Shadyside has been hosting solo sessions on Thursday-Saturday nights
City of Asylum has launched a shared programming channel, The Show Must Go On(line) Pittsburgh, a collaborative daily webcast that unites and streams programs by Pittsburgh’s arts organizations.
Jazz Central at WZUM has also started to keep a listing of what live stream and socially distanced jazz events we can find and confirm.
