Creed Taylor founded CTI in 1967, as a part of A&M records before going independent in 1970. The first album in ‘67 was “A Day in the Life” by the legendary guitarist Wes Montgomery.
The roster of CTI was rich and diverse - including Chet Baker, Jim Hall Ron Carter, Eumir Deodato, Don Sebesky, Astrud Gilberto, Bob James, Hubert Laws and Pittsburgh natives Stanley Turrentine and George Benson.
