Ron Carter shares just a few stories from his diverse career - from studying classical music and the cello early on, to becoming the go-to upright bassist on more than 2,400 recordings, including Miles Davis, Milt Jackson, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Freddie Hubbard and scores of recordings under his own leadership.

Erroll Garner’s birthdate is June 15, 1921, making this the summer of his 102nd year. We take a dive off to the Monterey Peninsula and visit Carmel for a legendary, accidental recording.

Pittsburgh’s Erroll Garner was a graduate of Westinghouse High - and we’ll hear sounds from other Westinghouse High graduates, Ahmad Jamal and Frank Cunimondo, plus a tribute to Erroll from adopted Pittsburghers Ernest McCarty Jr and the late Geri Allen.
